CURRICULUM CONTENT - GERMANY
Due to the nationwide framework the curriculum of the Berlin
University of Technology may by and large be considered
representative of the education in other universities. The
German system has no Educational Credit Transfer System
principles. Hence, it is not easy to transform the German
system into ETC units. What follows are my own transformations
which are based on a study load of 40 hours/week which includes
contact hours/week plus private study hours. 78 contact hours
are required during the basic study which makes 15.6 per
semester. By multiplying the contact hours by a factor of 2 we
arrive at slightly more than 30 ETC points/semester, i.e. 60
etc point p/a.
